Here is a mixed media canvas I made recently using acrylics, fabric pieces, Paint Pens , and lots of bling and rhinestones from Want2Scrap. I have really come to love the Want2Scrap website for their great assortment of things that I like to use when doing some of my pieces...If you click on the pic you can see more details of the piece, with the individual rhinestones in the pink flowers and the pearls on the crane and the women's clothing...as I look at this piece, I see some things I will do differently next time, but it was a good piece to practice on and I had a great time making it!
The second piece is something I have been working on that is a new technique for me that I am trying to perfect. It is hard to explain what I am trying to do, but it is sort of a collage "paint over", fabric and paper collage combination...it is evolving into more of a 3D effect than I had planned, but I am kinda liking it...I will post more details about this piece as I work through it...it is kind of an experiment. Other news?? Well, I have a special Warning for any of you with COPD or breathing problems...DO NOT USE SPRAY VARNISHES, unless you have a VERY ventilated area or are outside...I was unwise, andI have been down for a week, but beginning to feel much better!
